Law prohibiting the mayor of Boston from serving consecutive terms is repealed by the Massachusetts legislature.

It is speculated that the legislature repeals the 1918 law under the assumption that the popularity of James Michael Curley has waned and in order to allow the incumbent Maurice Tobin to continue in office.
